The landscape of the Fens is unique, intriguing and curiously beautiful. And maintained by an incredible network of drainage systems and pumping stations, without which this fascinating landscape would disappear under the waves. Prickwillow Museum, tells the story of the drainage of the Fens, the history of the local area, and those doughty individuals who ran the drainage pumps in remote locations. The museum showcases some of the region’s finest examples of restored diesel engines.
With a spacious café, plus attractive walks nearby, a visit to Prickwillow Museum promises a great day out in rural Cambridgeshire, it is now accessible from Ely railway station and the whole of East Cambridgeshire using the new East Cambs Connect bookable, door-to-door flexible mini-bus service on a Monday and Tuesday. Make sure you book at least one working day in advance.
From Easter 2017 the museum is open at weekends and on a Monday and Tuesday from 12:00 till 16:00 hrs.Posted by on
